Optimist Hiking Strap by RIPPER
Designed specifically for the International Optimist, the RIPPER Hiking Strap provides stable support and reliable contact with sailing footwear during hiking.
The complete strap uses a two-section construction with a 3-point attachment system, designed around the standard Optimist cockpit layout. It is supplied as one complete hiking strap, not as two separate straps.
The underside features a high-friction anti-slip surface that improves contact with sailing boots during repeated hiking movements and changes of body position.
The padded section is approximately 50 cm long, with additional webbing sections of approximately 10–15 cm at the ends. The working width is 7.5 cm, providing a broad and comfortable contact area for the foot.
Available colours include black, red, navy blue and pink, depending on current availability. The black version features the characteristic blue anti-slip underside.
The construction is developed for regular training and regatta use, focusing on grip, stability and durability rather than unnecessary marketing claims. Specification before slogans.
