RIPPER designs and manufactures Optimist top covers, padded bottom covers, rig bags, hiking straps and the long-established Combo Bag for rudder and daggerboard protection. Every product is developed around the way Optimist sailors actually handle, transport and store their equipment.

Selected RIPPER Optimist covers and bags are built from 1680D polyester with a PU coating and WR finish, chosen for demanding transport, repeated handling, abrasion and wet conditions. Reinforced construction, practical fastening systems and materials selected by technical specification form the RIPPER standard. Specification before slogans.

Our Optimist protection range is built as a complete system — from everyday deck protection to padded hull protection, rig storage and dedicated protection for rudder and daggerboard.

RIPPER products are designed, cut, sewn and finished in Poland under direct supervision. Many technical components used in our production — including load-bearing webbing, buckles, threads, elastic cords and ropes — are also made in Poland.

WHAT PROTECTION SYSTEM SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR AN OPTIMIST?

For everyday protection, an Optimist top cover protects the deck from UV, rain, dirt and exposure to the elements. During transport, an Optimist bottom cover protects the hull against scratches, impacts and damage caused by repeated handling and road travel. Rig bags and rudder & daggerboard bags complete the protection system for the equipment that travels with the boat.

WHY DOES RIPPER USE 1680D POLYESTER WITH PU WR?

Selected RIPPER Optimist covers and bags use durable 1680D polyester with a PU coating and WR finish. The specification is chosen for intensive use, transport, repeated handling, abrasion and wet conditions. The PU coating increases the protective properties of the fabric, while the WR finish helps reduce water absorption at the outer surface. Specification before slogans.

RIPPER products are designed, cut, sewn and finished in Poland under direct supervision. We also use Polish-made technical components, including load-bearing webbing, buckles, threads, elastic cords and ropes. No anonymous production chain — direct control from the first cut to the finished product.
